Emel Ernalbant is a portrait and food photographer based in Manchester, working globally for international publications and clients.

She was born and raised in Istanbul, studied Radio and Television Programming, and worked for Turkish Vogue, GQ, Conde Nast Traveller, Travel+Leisure, TimeOut Istanbul, and many others.

After the Syrian war, she moved to the Syrian border of Turkey and ran a darkroom project. The district of Mardin is most vulnerable to refugees and impoverished families who are mostly displaced by established communities.

She lived in Mardin for five years and then moved to the UK. She is a food and portrait photographer for Made in Hackney.
Some of her regular clients include the Blue Rooms Manchester (studio photographer), Sazy Homeware Online Shopping (product photographer), and Fermenti (food photographer). Currently, she is focused on community projects and dreams of setting up a plant-based cookery school in Manchester.
